Initially this was meant to be a dark, somewhat minimal style for those like me that are distracted easily. Text that's used more is intended to stand out more to the reader while not having to blare at a bright white background. Though recently I've retitled it to indicate its dynamic color scheme for those that would rather use a gray or default color scheme. If in doubt about the choices below, leave as is for recommended style. Also, if you're looking for a dark Firefox theme, you might like my recent theme: Firefox Dark Duality
This is a modified version of http://userstyles.org/styles/38780 , with a dark color scheme and some formatting changes for maximum readability and minimal eye strain. Clean interface with subtle gradients, no screen real estate wasted. Special coding for r/trees included. More screenshots here: http://imgur.com/a/hFsrB *As with all userstyles, go to reddit preferences and turn off "Allow subreddits to show me custom styles". *If you have Reddit Enhancement Suite, you also need to disable the "Style Tweaks" Module" under RES preferences...If you absolutely need your comment boxes, http://userstyles.org/styles/31983/reddit-comment-boxes-for-the-dark-reddit can be used in conjunction with this style. *There are links in the update section below to scripts that re-enable certain subreddit's appearances, be sure to look at them. Hey guys, leave feedback in the discussion or PM me on reddit (Greensticky) if you have any tips or helpful suggestions, I would appreciate it ! :)
Naut is a customized CSS for reddit made by reddit user Cryptonaut, found on /r/Naut. It is used in many subreddits natively through subreddit styles and RES. I made a global version of Naut's theme. It is updated to Naut 4.0, and looks better than ever. Changes back to the old reddit thumbnails and expansions.
Basically, I wanted a theme for Reddit that wasn't one of these three things: - BLINDING MINIMALIST WHITE - EDGY COOL DARK - PUMPED UP BRIGHT COLORS And couldn't find one. So I decided to make my own. Here it is. Unfortunately the documentation is utter shit (and also pretty much non-existent), because it's my first time trying to CSS anything and I honestly assumed it'd be a lot easier than it actually turned out to be. May work on nightmode in the future, but no plans as of yet. In case of bugs or something I overlooked, PM me at /u/gyrfalcons for best results. See it in action (with some minor differences - apparently subreddit CSS won't let you use Unicode control characters in it, go figure) at Sepia Reddit.
Requires the latest version of RES in nightmode (go into nightmode before applying the theme). Tested on Firefox.
Very simple, clean reddit theme. I got sick of reddit being ugly and decided to make this! Make sure to turn subreddit styles off in "settings > display > allow subreddits to show me custom themes" (or edit the theme to make it only apply to your frontpage). RES friendly (except night mode). I'll make a dark theme if there are enough requests! **I've disabled the sidebar completely because I never use it. Let me know if you want a version with a sidebar.** Also, let me know if anything needs fixing! Here on userstyles or https://github.com/itsamoreh/reddit-no-frills/issues
Now uninverted with a similar color scheme but with quite a few changes. Dark greenish blue/blueish green backgrounds, gray text, light greenish blue links. One of the major reasons I preferred styles like these to be inverted was because they incorporate a bunch of scrollbars which look better inverted. I never found a dark scollbar style I was happy with, but I finally got around to making my own: Chrome- https://userstyles.org/styles/121380/basic-dark-gray-scrollbars-for-chrome , FF- https://userstyles.org/styles/121381/basic-dark-gray-scrollbars-for-firefox so I reworked this style to be compatible. I prefer it with browser zoom set to 125% (as pictured). Read "Notes" for important info.
A dark, somewhat minimal theme for the easily distracted. Text is focused at the center of the page, marginalized and slightly more condensed for reading efficiency. I mostly use the black theme and so consequently it'll be the most tested. If in doubt about the choices below, leave as is for recommended style.
