For vanilla 4chan (Yotsuba / Yotsuba B / Futaba / Burichan) + 4chan X (2.9.0+) users. Adjusts style of inline replies and hover preview to be clearer. E-mail and filename expansion options plucked from a github issue (https://github.com/aeosynth/4chan-x/issues/144). Outline fading from github comment (https://github.com/aeosynth/4chan-x/issues/271#issuecomment-2044308).
4chan's CSS specifies various parts of its site to have the font-weight set to 800. DirectWrite correctly specifies font-weight 800 to be: DWRITE_FONT_WEIGHT_EXTRA_BOLD = 800 DWRITE_FONT_WEIGHT_ULTRA_BOLD = 800 Websites using this font-weight appear to be much bolder than FF3.6 or with hw accel off, because for once font weights are being rendered correctly (all other browsers except IE9+ do it wrong). This userstyle changes the font-weight to 700 for post names and "normal" for the post area in order to get the more familiar look for FF4 users with hw accel enabled; the assumption is that Moot did not intend for those bold fonts to be "extra bold." For a more permanent fix please e-mail Moot and tell him to fix his CSS.
I highly recommend the alternative version I've made for this script: Firefox 4 - Autohide Navigation Bar Alternative This user style is designed with tabs on top in mind; hovering over tabs for a short period of time will reveal the navigation bar. It works differently with tabs on bottom; using a collapse affected the tabs and generally became annoying. Instead the navigation bar fades in and out of view with very little delay. Notes: -This style has been tested with the default theme but it should work with most other themes. -This style takes advantage of "-moz-transition" animations which can strain low end computers; a version without animation is provided in this case. -This style assumes the standard navigation bar size of 28px. If you are using a theme that modifies this, you will have to adjust it.
Automatically hides the navigation bar. When you hover your mouse over the toolbar, the navigation bar is shown floating above the page. If you activate the URL bar directly through keyboard shortcuts such as CTRL+T or ALT+D, only the URL bar is displayed. Buttons / anything else on the navigation bar can be displayed by hovering your mouse over the toolbar or over the URL bar. I prefer this version over my old one. Note: -This style was created with tabs on top in mind. This userstyle becomes inactive when tabs on top is disabled. -A version without animation is provided for low end computers. -This style assumes the standard navigation bar size of 28px. If you are using a theme that modifies this, you will have to adjust this style. -This is an alternative to my old style: Firefox 4 - Autohide Navigation Bar The difference is that this new version does not annoyingly shift the layout down when displaying the navigation bar.
Foreword: This style is meant to be used in tangent with Jökulsárlón Download Manager: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/j%C3%B6kuls%C3%A1rl%C3%B3n-download-manager/ Jökulsárlón Download Manager allows the default download manager to be inside a tab. This user style simply gives it the same look & feel as the Firefox 4 Add-ons Manager. Many parts of this style are pulled directly from chrome://mozapps/skin/extensions/extensions.css so its license has been included.
