Making Drudge Report more readable: 4 years running! A complete rework of drudgereport.com (well, as much as I could spackle css on such crusty html code), including an updated "web 2.0" logo, font beautification and link hover prettiness. 1) Restores proper link colors so that visited links can be seen. 2) Fixes font size, type, readability and line spacing. 3) Eliminates some ads, but using Adblock and NoScript is still recommended. 4) Slightly formats site for cleaner look.
Removes ads, links that just go to the page you are already on, a lot of images. 19 December 200 - Rewritten. Removes underline from links except on hover. Links to Politico.com are red (easily removed if you don't like it) to warn you that the page will load slowly. New screenshots. 10 May 2012 - I have given up trying to get rid of the ads. As soon as I filter one out another one shows up and my ad filters remove too many images. Just use AdBlock. I've left some of the ad blocking code - REMed out - if you want to experiment. Do you want a clean, quick way to read the headlines at DrudgeReport.com, with a clean sans-serif font? You know how hard it can be to read those headlines if you're running Linux instead of Windows, or if you're running Windows with your monitor set to a high screen resolution. Drudge Report - Stripped to the bones is clean and simple -- and easy to read. Small tweaks to the Drudge Report UI that makes it a bit more tolerable.
There were practically no dark themes for the Drudge Report, so I whipped up a quick style sheet to alleviate that omission. As an added bonus, the link colors now reflect which sites you've already visited. Given how notoriously simple the site's layout is, I do not envision updating this significantly besides minor tweaks if special Drudge features end up breaking the layout.
