This is excellent. Might I suggest, though, that you add the following to prevent the close button and tab icon of tabs adjacent to the active tab from shifting left and right (at least on Linux):
tab[beforeselected="true"] > .tab-image-right
{
margin-left: 4px !important;
}tab[afterselected="true"] > .tab-image-left
{
margin-right: 4px !important;
