Remove the Edit and Help menus to save space so you can move the location bar up a level.

Edit to your liking to remove other menus; Here are the ID's for all toplevel menus:
file-menu, edit-menu, view-menu, go-menu, bookmarks-menu, tools-menu, helpMenu

I loved it, but had to turn it off because it also removed the Edit menu from Google Docs document editor. It didn't remove the Help menu there, though. It'd be great if it just removed the menus from Firefox, not from web pages. ****

Nice tweak! I've been using FF addon Compact Menu2 (download @ https://addons.mozilla.org/fi/firefox/addon/4550 ) that gives you the option of choosing which menus to disable and compresses all of 'em behind one menu button. With Ginas style theres one less addon to use i guess. ****

Worked great for me also. A few problems I had was that 'go-menu' didn't work for me (I had to use #history-menu instead) and 'bookmarks-menu' didn't work for me (I had to use #bookmarksMenu instead) but it all ended up working properly for me in the end. ****

Very nice - only problem I had was with the History menu - looks like you listed "go-menu" as its ID but that didnt work for me - using "history-menu" as in:
#helpMenu, #edit-menu, #history-menu { display: none !important; }
worked perfectly for me though

Thanks though - really clean and nice feature *****

Thanks, Gina - now you're even reaching out beyond Lifehacker!

Nice work on this style. It's nice to have the id's for the individual elements on the menu bar, allowing you to chose whichever one menu item you want. This works well in combination with something like Hides disabled menuitems , which eliminates all disabled menu items, context menu (i.e., right click items), and any separator that may follow them.

I'd also like to offer an alternative that I've found very useful for saving vertical space in the location bar, one that I originally found via one of your Lifehacker posts: the Tiny Menu addon. http://lifehacker.com/software/firefox/download-of-the-day--tiny-menu-firefox-extension-209634.php or directly at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1455 ****
