How to install
- Install Stylish plus Kallout for Firefox (or from here for just Stylish or for other Mozilla apps). If you have Stylish already, make sure you have JavaScript enabled.
- You need Firefox with Stylish to use this style. Get Firefox, then install Stylish plus Kallout (or just Stylish), then come back here to install this style.
- for Greasemonkey and Opera users.
This is a modded version of the Wikipedia: simple research by Coriolanus for easier reading and higher resolutions with added support for the Dutch wiki and a few Wikipedia-styled Wikia pages.
This version uses a lighter colored background for easier reading, without burning the eyes with the standard white background. Both the page width and text are also larger and the page is now centered. Some more wiki links such as "did you know?" and "support wiki" have been removed as well.

- Increased contrast by slightly darkening text and lightening the background further, as suggested by Loserstyle.
- Added the word "Search" next to the search field for clarity and made it wider.
- Improved image layouts in articles to have more distance from the text and the removed use of borders as spacing (sloppy wikia!).
- Added support for a few popular wikia gaming sites that have the wikipedia design. (primarily ad-removal)

Add following line to BODY part: overflow-x: hidden ! important;
This will "kill" horizontal scrollbar forever on wikipedia.

I really do love the simplicity of this style and the color choice. I get serious eye strain from light backgrounds so this is a godsend!
One question--I get a horizontal scroll bar when I use this userstyle, but there's no reason for it, since the article fits on the screen. I see from your screenshot that you too have it. Is there anyway to tweak the CSS to prevent the horizontal scroll bar from appearing?

I have two requests though, first, I've found an incompatibility: it conflicts with the Inline wikipedia viewer Greasemonkey style ( http://projects.apathyant.com/wikipediainline/ ), the div becomes transparent with this script active...
Secondly, I'm sure a lot of us non English speakers miss the article language selection, could you please make it autohide or something :)

Hey this is the best one I've came across for Wiki! There's a small problem... need to fix the positioning of "Help us provide.." donation text above the search box.
To Loserstyle:
You can change the background by simply editing the code in the BODY section at top (i.e. #fff for white).

Yes, the other one wasn't usable. This now overtakes Wikipedia - Wiki(square) for me (because of its massive top banner) as my default style for Wikipedia.
I like the darkness (I use NASA Night Launch and Royale Noir) but its still a bit too much. I'd prefer a bit more contrast still ... lighten the background further, just for comfortable reading.
