It's a very simple style, sort of a template, - no arrows, no corners, just a scrolling stick! The colors you see on the pic are for demo, change to make your own.
To change colors, go to background-image: -moz-linear-gradient and change colors there.
You can use an image - the trick would be to find a good image that would look good vertically and horizontally, here's an example - http://i.imgur.com/OxQ94.jpg

I have a bunch of scrollbar styles you might like - click my name on this page and then scroll the list of my styles to 'S' (as in 'scrollbar')
