i didn't do any of the coding for this, just found this Chrome extension:

Installed in Chrome, went to extension folder, opened CSS file, copy/pasted here, enjoy.
Set it to only plus.google.com, as you can see from that link it works on many google sites so just add the domains you want, i ain't gonna update it.
