I hide a lot of stuff i don't use, check the top couple of blocks to comment/uncomment what you need.
IMPORTANT! the styles index is a scrollable box. There have been reports that it might make scrolling slow. If it does for you, disable hardware acceleration (don't think you will miss much) or comment this as shown:

03/20/11 - Hid some more nuisance, thanks to Barbiegirl! Welcome to 'unhide' whatever you need (notifications, activity and other BS).
10/11 - deleted mod_wastrel' avatar, sorry, it annoys me.
12/11 - due to the site update. Thanks mod_wastrel for the avatars (hiding generic)!
3/12 - made the index and my bookmarks page a scrollable boxes. If you don't like it, search for 'scrollable boxes' and delete those blocks. But it looks really nice with my Scrollbar Silver (on glass ) Fx4*
3/12 - IMPORTANT! - made the right panel and search bar fixed in their position. This may not work for small screens. If it causes problems to you, search for = fixed right search and panel position */ and comment those 2 blocks (at the top, under 'scrollable boxes', added section for profiles.
