Firefox 2 & 3
Global style for all forms. HTTP (clear-text) forms are grayscale. HTTPS (encrypted) forms are in dark greens. Backgrounds, color, and border/outlining are the only styling done by this. The rest is left to the page or your other userstyles.
Most of the selectors are prefixed with "html:root > body", giving their properties priority over most anything else, but other properties can still be applied (such as by another, existing userstyle) without matching these selectors. For instance, I avoided "background:", so that property overrides this style.
Before Screenshot: Unencrypted form template.
After Screenshot: Encrypted GMail login. The page was also cleaned and the form box moved by paintless - google login

I love this form style!
Complements the base style well.
Exactly what I was looking for as part of my dark linux theme, thanks !
But it doesn't seem really compatible with some other styles, especially Gmail Redesigned (by Globex Designs) ...Can you fix this please ?
thanks, finally solved my dislike of white form boxes! the colour coding of secure and non secure is also a cool idea!
thnx
