@Moggy: I added some comments to my code and uploaded a slightly modified version for you:

But I don't know how to add an extra line showing the feed's name. I thought about it but can't see any possibility. Hmm, I'm gonna ask at Mozillazine.

Wow, a LOT nicer than the original... With the theme I'm using, it looks startlingly professional, the Sage team should consider following your lead!
A couple of little requests/suggestions if they sound feasible:
-- It'd be nice if the "search" button used the feed icon, and the dropdown menu used something else (maybe the tools/options icon?)... Using the current "home" icon seems counter-intuitive to me at least, and is baffling for the newbie. ;)
-- Some way to see the text of what site Sage is searching, as the original GUI has. Maybe it could be next to the icons, or an option for a *small* extra line?
-- Option of aligning the buttons back to the original GUI's position if the user prefers, since it can end up looking really crowded (or possibly result in clicking on other buttons entirely).Though I certainly think the style is worth a full 5 stars without the changes anyway! :)
Much nicer. I never understood why 'Sage' had such a clumsy sidebar GUI...
