This is an attempt at making the articles and front page of the nytimes.com site less 'busy' and more useful - in particular for readers who do not need local info but just want the news.
- Links to various alternative ways to browse the site (my times, today's paper, etc.) are removed
- Ads, personals, weather info and similar reader services are removed.
- The front page shifts some columns around for quicker access and increased usefulness.
- Articles display redux-style (looses some links to other sections and articles for a less cluttered display)
- Some rudimentary scaling: The page is still optimally viewed on 1000+ but articles adjust pretty well to lower widths.
For advertising blocking purposes this style should be used in conjunction with the Adblock (Plus) extension.
Install options
- Install Stylish for Firefox, Thunderbird, Flock, Mozilla Suite, SeaMonkey, or Songbird. If you have Stylish already, make sure you're using the latest version and have JavaScript enabled.
- You need Firefox with Stylish to use this style. Get it now, then Install Stylish, then come back here to install this style.
- - load into the Stylish extension where you can preview and save it.
- - this style has been updated since you installed it in Stylish.
- - Greasemonkey and Opera users can load this style as a user script.

This script needs to be updated. TimesSelect content is now free, and is very worthy of being left on the page now.
