This has been working for me for a long time now but may not for everybody and does not quite work with Stylish 1.0* (for Stylish 1.0* in sidebar use a similar Stylish 1.0*/Sidebar - Brass or a glass version Glass Stylish (for 1.0*)). I have - Vista, Glasser, TMP. I have a style for the tabbar to match the height here (font in the sidebar might be white distorted for the height of the multirow bar when using multirow in TMP - Fx/Glasser bug. Just close the sidebar if it annoys you.). You may need to adjust the sidebarheader min-height to flow with your tabbar.
To open/close the sidebar, just grab the left side of the browser page (not window) and move it left or right. Better done on top, between the close button and first tab (so that you don't accidentally enable/disable a style).
Thanks to Matt Nordhoff - used bits from his wonderful Stylish - Use prettier enabled/disabled icons.
Also fools gold for Scrollbar on the Left (Bookmarks-History) Sidebar which has finally completed my style and the Sidebar-header (Reverse Close Button-Title) style.
And ChoGGi for the sort icon code.
Thanks a whole bunch!

This style works with Sidebar Scrollbar Brass as seen on the screenshots.

Everything is pretty well identified so you can change the code to suit.
See the full size shots:
sidebar open - http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/626/capturel.png
sidebar closed - http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/6132/closed.png
Both shots below are 'after'.

The style transfers to the manager in window, if you don't like it, toss around @ lines or ask me (in my thread).
Also, if you need the searchbar, paste this code instead of the one at the bottom before the bg image, where it says /* searchbox */ ..... display: none ... (can't post the style with that code uncommented for some reason):
/* Searchbox - if you want to use the search box, switch this comment */
textbox#filter, #clearFilter, #search-box > label
{ -moz-appearance: none !important;
color: black !important;
background-color: transparent !important;
font-size: 13px !important;
font-family: Comic Sans, sans serif !important;
-moz-border-radius: 8px !important;
padding: 0px !important; }
#clearFilter { border: none !important; }
#search-box > label { display: none !important; }

03/11/09 - added fools gold' code, thanks! it sure is better with it.
03/13/09 - thanks to ChoGGi, the style is now completed (changed the sort icon at the Description toolbar).
