This gives background color to your CustomButtons buttons - all of them. Another style (separate) will allow for individual button background colors. This is handy if you want them to stand out whether grouped together or separate; I use the other "specific" one to only color "Multi Search" buttons (developed by Lou Cypher/Zoolcar9 and invaluable to me - thanks Lou!).
