added (untested) basic translations for af, ca, de, es-AR, es-ES, eu, fr, it, nb-NO, nl, nn-NO, pt-BR, and pt-PT (see also Gecko - StatusBar Icons (more lang))
if the statusbar icon changes to a red X please let me know what the text is
you can change how the statusbar looks (see comment in the style)

if you dont have cutemenus then use Gecko - StatusBar Icons (w/o CuteMenus)

Update:
when you mouseover images from google image search it filled the whole statusbar and then some, i changed the binding to listbox.xml#listcell-iconic as i couldnt find a quicker way to implement crop="right" and flex="1".
changed connected/connecting icons around as they look more appropriate that way
added some filetypes
it now shows a red X instead of all the icons
added IE Tab icons (thanks XerBlade)
changed read icon to be less scary :)
added the rest of ie/file icons(hopefully) XerBlade the red x rule is at the top of the style so it has the lowest importance the filetypes are at the bottom so they have the highest
added localinstall Archiving
